The specter of a devastating Middle East confrontation looms bigger than ever this week after former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton noted that Israel had only a few days left to attack Iran’s main nuclear facility.

Bolton, who also previously oversaw US nuclear non-proliferation policy, was referring to Russia’s intention to deliver nuclear fuel rods to the now-complete Bushehr nuclear reactor this coming weekend. The rods will be inserted into the core and the reactor is scheduled to be operational on August 21.

“Once that uranium, once those fuel rods are very close to the reactor, certainly once they’re in the reactor, attacking it means a release of radiation, no question about it,” Bolton told Fox Business Network on Monday. “So if Israel is going to do anything against Bushehr it has to move in the next eight days.”

Bolton said he did not know if Israel intends to strike or not, but was certain that Israel would not attack the Bushehr reactor after it had gone online for fear of releasing radiation on the nearby population.

Bushehr has been in development since 1995 as part of an agreement with Russia, and is not exactly part of the suspected Iranian nuclear weapons program.

However, spent nuclear fuel rods do contain the material needed to build nuclear bombs. If Iran’s other uranium enrichment facilities are eventually shut down, Bushehr could still provide the needed components to make nuclear weapons.

Russia says it has an agreement with Iran under which Tehran is obligated to return the spent rods from Bushehr, but many in the region fear that rods will mysteriously go missing or simply not be returned as Iran continues its defiant quest for nuclear weapons.

As such, Bushehr going online is, as Bolton warned, a major threshold, and in fact constitutes the dreaded “point of no return” that many have warned about over the long years of trying to diplomatically convince Iran to halt its nuclear program.

Something major is in the works and it is very likely not good. So many have said Iran will be “ready to go” within days as it concerns her nuclear capability that it has become a bit like crying wolf. Few pay attention anymore.

Well, you’d better listen up.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Russia will start loading uranium fuel into the nuclear reactor of the Bushehr nuclear power station in Iran on August 21. This is the crucial step in outfitting Iran with nuclear weapons of mass destruction.

Russia says the latest U.N. sanctions against Iran will not affect the Bushehr project. This project was slated to happen in late September but now we are just days away from the point of no return. Israel must decide what she will do, and quickly.

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton told Fox News that, “Once the fuel rods are loaded it makes it essentially immune from attack by Israel. Because once the rods are in the reactor, an attack on the reactor risks spreading radiation in the air, and perhaps into the water of the Persian Gulf.”

The story immediately became front-page news in Israel, which has laid precise plans to carry out an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Bolton made it clear that it is widely assumed that any Israeli attack on the Bushehr reactor must take place before the reactor is loaded with fuel rods. If that is the case, Israel must act before August 21.

I often hear Yoni the Israeli blogger on the Hugh Hewitt program. In a recent blog, he suggested war is imminent for the following reasons:

1) Hizbullah has dug tunnels into northern Israel. Hizbullah also has 60,000 rockets, many with chemical warheads. Israel has delivered letters to the U.N., Lebanon, and USA, showing where Hizbullah has hidden rockets in civilian areas.

2) Israeli satellite has captured photos of submarines off-loading weapons to Hizbullah in northern Lebanon. Intelligence later showed these weapons were special chemical weapons engineered to eat through protective equipment. This agent may now be loaded onto Hizbullah rockets.

3) The Israel Air Force (IAF) is training in long- range missions, jets, and helicopters, which would suggest commando raids a long way from home. Additionally, Israeli Defense Force (IDF) reserves have been called up and are being trained at an abnormal pace.

4) Israeli subs are sitting off Iran and the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has an airbase in Saudi Arabia.

5) Israeli intelligence has captured data showing that Hizullah will preemptively attack Israel at month’s end.  The objective is to take out IAF bases so Israeli planes cannot hit Iran.

While at first glance Americans think this will not affect them all that much, I am taking some thoughts from my frequent radio guest, Bill Salus, who has written the book Israelestine. Salus states, “Iran’s apocalyptic-minded president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has publicly threatened the closing of Hormuz in retaliation for an Israeli or American strike upon his country.

“Additionally, two significant correlating events made the news in May, 2010. First, the Islamic Republic of Iran warned that it would launch terrorist attacks and suicide strikes inside of America in the event of a strike upon Iranian soil. Second, the Iranian Navy conducted a massive war exercise in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, called ‘Judgment Day.’ This drill reportedly demonstrated Iran’s sole and sovereign ability to control those strategic bodies of water.”
Salus continues, “Regarding the possibility of Iran playing the ‘oil card’ against America, on September 15, 2009 The Wall Street Journal published a Bret Stephens article entitled Obama Is Pushing Israel Towards War. In the article Stephens suggested that a Middle East War could push the price of oil up to $300 per barrel. Lately, on average, that precious black gold has been closing between $70 to $80 per barrel. Stephen’s estimate suggests an oil-dependent world could be about to experience a spike at the pump of about four times the present amount. Iran still ranks number two behind Saudi Arabia in the OPEC oil cartel, which is responsible for two-thirds of the world’s oil supply.”
Are Americans, Chinese, Europeans, and others ready for such a steep increase? Americans could expect to feel pain in the waiting lines at the pump and in their pocket books, as increased transportation costs would certainly be reflected in the price of goods sold over the retail counters across the country.

When this strike actually happens, tomorrow or next year, the world will react — as it did after Israel bombed Iraq’s Osirak facility in 1981 – with universal condemnation. Israel can do nothing right — including take out a major de-stablizer of the world – Iran’s nuclear capability.

And just where will America be in this scenario? Would she participate with Israel? Even Saudi Arabia is participating, by allowing Israel to use a Saudi air base.  But don’t count on our current White House or State Department to do anything but join the condemning chorus. As George Will says, “Will Israel do what the world won’t? If it attacks Iran, the world was warned. If not, the world may regret it.”

No matter how one would like to keep optimistic in this day and age, it is very hard to ignore the fact that this earth is experiencing some serious changes. Russia is fighting a killer heatwave, raging wildfires, and threats of nuclear smog, while the Asian floods, landslides, are also taking massive tolls on human life, properties, and affecting the global markets. These are only a few examples of the world-wide extreme weather and natural disasters occurring simultaneously around the globe today. Words and phrases such as ‘unprecedented’, ‘never before in living memory’ are now common, and describe many of these events, and one has to wonder, what on earth is going on?

Most are quick to blame it on global warming. Climate change experts,Scientists, and Al Gore have all helped to give man-kind a ‘reason’ and ‘explanation’ for these unusual occurrences in weather and unprecedented disasters. In a recent article from the Montreal Gazette entitled, “Disasters ‘prove that global warming is happening”, Dr. Peter Stott, who is the head of climate monitoring at Britain’s Met Office has said that there was “clear evidence” of a rise in the frequency of extreme weather events due to climate change. “The odds of such extreme events are rapidly shortening, and they could become considered the norm by the middle of this century,” he was quoted as saying. Professor Andrew Watson, of the University of East Anglia, said the extreme events are “fairly consistent with the IPCC reports and what 99 per cent of the scientists believe to be happening.”  Next to global warming, another familiar culprit most closely associated with these events wreaking havoc on earth is, “Mother Nature”. ‘She’ is frequently pointed out, and in a recent Bloomberg article, Peter McGuire, the managing director of CWA Global Markets Pty said, “Mother Nature is playing a very evil hand – it’s always the poor that suffer.”

“On April 2, 2009, the work of July 4, 1776 was nullified at the meeting of the G-20 in London.”  So begins an article written by author and commentator Dick Morris on April 7, 2009, titled, “European Socialism to Run Our Financial System.”  According to Morris, a communiqué from the meeting “essentially announces a global economic union with uniform regulations and by-laws for all nations, including the United States.” Please note: This took place last year.

This new financial state-of-being was confirmed in a statement made by Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, in a speech he made to the Council on Foreign Relations earlier this year.  He said, “For the good and appropriate functioning of global finance it is extremely important that we, in this new ownership of global governance, have – particularly on both sides of the Atlantic – the implementation of the same rules in the same fashion.”

Do not miss this. Do not tune me out.  This is vital information.  The global, one-world economy is being discussed by a top-level world banker as a done deal. And notice that this statement is made in the context of global governance.  Sometimes when we hear words in the news like “economic,” “G-20,” “Council on Foreign Relations,” we tune it out thinking, “That’s way over my head,” or “This isn’t relevant to my life.”  We couldn’t be more wrong.

The Apostle John wrote of a one-world economy in his letter to the seven churches, Revelation.  The one-world economy is one facet of the antichrist’s short-lived world dictatorship.  According to President Jean-Claude Trichet, this particular facet is in place.  Were you aware of this?

America waits with bated breath while Washington struggles to bring the U.S. economy back from the brink of disaster. But many of those same politicians caused the crisis, and if left to their own devices will do so again.

Videos and information like this may cause some distress, but we mustn’t bury our heads in the sands.  God is sovereign and that is a glorious truth to keep in mind.  Nonetheless, we are responsible for what we are able to do to fight evil in the day and time in which we live.  Being armed with information is vital in the battle for truth — and for America.

King David said, “The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.   The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming,” Ps. 37:12-13.  Here’s a prime example.

It’s possible, if you’re on the Internet getting your news like you should be, that you’ve already heard this.  I have.  But I’ve not heard it so concisely presented as by Gary Bauer (Campaign for Working Families) did in a recent end-of-day email he sent out.  This is relevant to the end times (check out II Tim. 3:1-5).  Now the left and their cronies are so cock sure of themselves that they’re lying right out in open — repeatedly, this is just one example — and no one seems powerful enough to put a stop to us.  Deceit is raging in our world!

There is a shocking report today from the Daily Caller exposing a vast left-wing media conspiracy to save Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign by shutting down reporting on Jeremiah Wright.

This goes way beyond charges of media bias. This is much more than one reporter allowing his or her own opinions to slant coverage of an issue. This involves a cabal of journalists from multiple news organizations conspiring to control the news and plotting to impugn the reputations of other journalists all in an effort to aid a candidate for president of the United States. And it reflects a well-documented pattern.

After the Jeremiah Wright controversy emerged during a 2008 presidential debate, members of Journolist (an online community of liberal journalists, professors and activists) recognized the potential threat to Obama and began strategizing about how to respond. True to the Saul Alinsky playbook, their reaction was not to repudiate Jeremiah Wright, but to condemn those who dared to question Obama about his long-term relationship with Wright. Here was the plan, articulated by Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent:

“What is necessary is to raise the cost on the right of going after the left. …let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear. … If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

Change the subject by calling your opponents racists. If this sounds familiar, it should. It worked for the Left during the 2008 campaign, so it has continued doing it for the past 18 months. “Racism” became the Left’s retort to any policy disagreement. Whether it was town hall protestors worried about ObamaCare, Tea Party activists worried about out-of-control spending or Obama’s policy toward Israel, in the fevered brows of liberals, racism was always the culprit motivating every critic.

With a media establishment so willing to protect him – even willing to ignore the virulent anti-Americanism and racism of Jeremiah Wright – it’s no surprise that Obama feels free to distort the truth to advance his agenda.
